SCLL Field Guidelines
· Call the Field Hot Line (594-2626) prior to any practice or game if it has rained within 24 Hours of your practice or game.
· Observe all notification on the Hot Line regarding field closures. If you have practice at Heather or any other field with a blacktop, you may use the blacktop during your practice time.
· If the infield is closed, but the grass is opened, you may use the grass areas ONLY.
· For weekend games/practices or weekday games ONLY, the League President will communicate with the City regarding the reopening of closed fields due to rain and/or standing water. NO team may use a CLOSED field with out the approval of the City or League President. Only AUTHORIZED individuals are allowed to work on closed fields for reopening.
· At the end of each practice, the practicing team is responsible to remove all garbage, water bottles and miscellaneous items from the dugouts, surrounding areas and field.
· The LAST TEAM practicing is responsible to water, drag and level/fill all holes around first base, second base, third base and home plate after practice. Please rake free the edges of the grass where there tends to be a buildup of loose soil. Stay at least 2 from the edge of the grass with the screen while dragging.
· The HOME TEAM of every game is responsible to water, drag and line the infield dirt prior to each game.
· The VISITING TEAM of the last game is responsible to water, drag and level/fill all holes around first base, second base, third base and home plate. Please rake free the edges of the grass where there tends to be a buildup of loose soil. Stay at least 2 from the edge of the grass with the screen while dragging. The VISITING TEAM is also responsible to remove and lockup all bases/equipment and replace the base plugs.
· All teams are responsible to remove all garbage, water bottles and miscellaneous items from the dugouts, surrounding areas and field after each game.
· The portable backstop at Stadium for T-Ball must be rotated from corner to corner each week to prevent the overuse and damage of the grass.
· There is NO FOOD allowed in the dugouts at anytime.
· Batting of any kind is prohibited against any backstop or fence.
· If managers or coaches notice chalk, or other supplies dwindling, please notify the Field Coordinators.
Everyones cooperation is appreciated. This is hard work, but the benefit is better and longer lasting fields for our kids to play on. We also need to pay attention to locking up the equipment boxes after each practice and upcoming games.
