2017 SAN CARLOS HIT-A-THON IS HERE!!

The 2017 San Carlos Little League Hit-A-Thon Fundraiser is on! This will be a super fun event for the kids and a great benefit to the League and Community. A Hit-A-Thon is like a Walk-A-Thon. Each participant generates monetary pledges from friends/family/community before the event. Pledges can be on a per point basis or flat fee.   Players then participate in the Hit-A-Thon and accumulate points based on hits.

ELIGABILITY:  Every San Carlos Little League Player is eligible and encouraged to participate!!

DATE: 4/30/2017

LOCATION:   Burton Park Baseball Fields

TIME:  8AM – 6PM Each Division will be assigned a block of time to come out and hit!!

THANK YOU FOR A GREAT 2016 HIT-A-THON!!

The 2016 Hit-A-Thon was a Grand Slam!  Funds from the 2016 Hit-A-Thon were used to improve the player and coach experience across all divisions and can be seen in action today! We purchased many new "in-game items" (hitting tees, pitching machines, pitching mounds, umpire gear, etc.)  We also reconditioned the Highlands Batting Cage (a facility that can be used by all in the community – not just Little Leaguers) and added many new field equipment items (generators, field golf cart, benches etc.).

It was “Prizes-galore” in 2016 as we gave out hundreds of prizes totaling close to $10,000 worth of cool prizes (4 X-boxes, 4 PlayStations, baseball equipment, gift cards, etc.)  to the players for their participation and support.   We will do the same in 2017!!

2017 FUND RAISING GOALS - THE YEAR OF THE FAN!!

For 2017, we are focusing on the Fan Experience with an eye on improving scoreboards, seating and accommodations for our fans and players.   How great would it be for spectators and players to “chill out” at games with added shade while being able to know the score of the game without asking!!  We think so too – and that is our focus.

HIT-A-THON RULES

Each player will get 10 pitches or 6 hits - whichever comes first. T-Ballers will hit off of a Tee. All other divisions will hit off of a pitcher.  There will be no defense on the field.

Each hit will correspond to a point value based on total distance the ball travels (e.g. Home run has a higher point value than infield single). At the end of a player’s turn, the player will have accumulated a total number of points based on their total hits and corresponding point value (e.g.  player gets 5 hits with varying point values, for a total score 19 points).

Based on players “pledges”, each point will be worth a certain amount of money.  More pledges = more money per point (e.g.  player generates 8 pledges of various amounts resulting in $8.00 per point).  Player generates 19 points in hit value.  Player generates $152 (19 points x $8.00 per point) in money raised.
