It’s the Season Finale of Friday Night Lights tonight, a special Cinco de Mayo edition.
We have a couple of great matchups on tap in the most highly anticipated season finale since Breaking Bad.
The 5.00 p.m. AAA game at Highlands North features a National League battle for 2nd place and a highly coveted 1st round bye.
Mudcats Manager Andy Castricone knows baseball like Walter White knows chemistry.
Castricone has his Mudcats in 2nd place in the National League behind the 1st place River Cats.
But the 3rd place Marauders and Manager Rick Martinez are looking to steal that first round bye from Castricone, just like Jesse and Walter stole that barrel of methylamine in the middle of the night.
Our 7 p.m. Majors matchup pits the suddenly surging Cubs (8-7-1) against the 1st place Red Sox (11-5).
The Red Sox have climbed to the top with offense and more offense this year.
And for anyone that dares challenge them, they offer the same stark warning that Walter White gave his challengers…”stay out of my territory”.
Mark “Heisenberg” Maxwell has managed the Red Sox to an amazing league leading 10.63 runs per game.
The Red Sox also feature the Majors 4th place home run hitter (James Tofigh – 5) and 9th place home run hitter (Alexander Romero – 4).
When he is not waving flags and filming San Francisco Giants commercials, Toby O’Brien finds time to Manage the Majors Cubs.
The Cubs have a bunch of heavy hitters led by Clay Hinsdale, who leads the team with 4 home runs.
Hinsdale is having such a remarkable season for a 10 year old that he actually has more home runs than any 11 year old except Jayden Weber (4 – Tigers).
The Cubs have been hot lately, winning two in a row and climbing to 5th place and within 1.5 games of the 2nd place Athletics in a quest for a 1st round bye.
And for opponents that face the Cubs, they better heed the warning that Walter gave his brother-in-law Hank Schraeder…”If that’s true, if you don’t know who I am, then maybe your best course of action would be to tread lightly.”
It’s a Cinco de Mayo special edition of Friday Night Lights!!!
And while we won’t have Gus Fring of Los Pollos Hermanos tonight, we will have Daniel of the Snack Shack.
Daniel is the guy that runs the Snack Shack and he is expecting his first child, a baby girl, any day now.
As Hector Salamanca said, “La Familia es Todo”.
So bring the family out for a fun night of baseball, food, and entertainment.
We promise it will be the most fun you have ever had, and if it isn’t you can take it up with SCLL’s lawyer Saul Goodman.
It’s the Season Finale of Friday Night Lights!!!
We hope to see you there!
