"One Day at at Time" - District 12 Team Wins 3rd Consecutive Elimination Game
Tyler Wong, Gavin Everett, and Evan Elwood had no intentions of letting their Little League careers end tonight.
San Carlos once again jumped on an opponent early.
Everett's 1st inning grand slam was the opening salvo that ignited the San Carlos bats all evening.
San Carlos was up 5-0 after one inning.
And that one swing of the bat by Everett would be all that starting pitcher Tyler Wong would need.
Wong was brilliant on the mound tonight throwing 4 shutout innings to extend the San Carlos season another day.
Wong also chipped in with a home run.
In fact Wong's home run was a walk off mercy rule shot that ended the game.
Evan Elwood got in on the action as well, pitching a scoreless inning and also hitting a homer.
San Carlos now has a Saturday July 1st game at 12:30 p.m. at Burgess Park in Menlo Park against Palo Alto.
If they can win that, they will be 2 games away from making the Finals.
But although the media likes to jump ahead, it's One Day at a Time for this San Carlos District 12 team.
That's a tried and true formula that has worked for ages.
It worked for Valerie Bertinelli and Schneider the handyman, and it can also work for the San Carlos District 12 team.
