Dear all –
Our last update in early June expressed hope that Little League could return to practices soon. It is now June 17, and we do not have the necessary approval from the City to proceed. We understand that the City is waiting for clearer guidance from the County.
Our return-to-practice plan was based on the idea that we might be able to return to games in early July, with an abbreviated season. Many coaches were willing to stay on board with that expectation. As the weeks have gone by, however, playing Little League games this summer seems a more and more distant possibility. We also understand that families and coaches need finality at some point, and want to plan their summer.
As a result, our Board yesterday made the difficult decision to cancel the season. We know this will come as disappointing news to many. Summer Sandlot, a low key form of baseball that we do every year during the summer, will be TBD.
Thank you all for your patience, and for your support of San Carlos Little League. When baseball does resume, we know that our community will have more enthusiasm than ever.
