Hi SCLL Parents,

It’s the Friday Night Lights Season Premier tonight at Highlands North starting at 5 p.m.

For those new to SCLL, there are 6 Friday Night Lights events on the docket, with tonight being the first.
The evening starts with a AAA game at 5 p.m. and concludes with a Majors game at 7 p.m.
Teams will sometimes have zany pre-game introductions and it’s a colorful celebration of our national pastime.
But the best thing about Friday Night Lights is that the kids love it!

The AAA game is the Hot Rods (1-0) at the Mudcats (0-1).
Manager Mike Evert hopes to keep the good times rolling for the Hot Rods, who won on Opening Day 7-1.
But now they face the defending AAA Champion Mudcats under Manger Andy Castricone.

Before we get to the Majors game, let’s introduce the Friday Night Light Coordinators Tim Carruthers, Joe Lorenzini, and Stewart McDougall.
Also if you attend, make sure to meet SCLL President Scott Odom, and find out the secret to his great hair.

The Majors game features the Giants (1-0) at the Red Sox (0-1).
Giants Manager Mike Zirelli had his pitching staff in playoff form on Opening Day with a 1-0 shutout of the Pirates, behind pitchers Jaquari Hughes, Zack Zirelli and Joey Lorenzini.
Zirelli knows pitching…his 2016 Mudcats team was 1st in ERA, his 2017 Giants team was 3rd in ERA, and now he’s back with possibly his best pitching staff of his SCLL tenure.
But as good as the Giants pitching was on Opening Day, their hitting was as dead as disco at Comiskey Park.
They will need to get the bats going on Friday Night to continue their winning ways.

Red Sox Manager and Grateful Dead fan Mike Busser hopes to right the ship for the Sox, who lost their opener 6-3.
With a tough early season schedule, there is trouble ahead and trouble behind for the Red Sox.
But this is not a team you want to overlook.
They are led by a trio of 12 year old veterans in Aiden Deffner, Will Foster, and Jake Busser.
When asked about his chances to win this game, Busser said “We will get by. We will get by. We will get by. We will survive”.
Words to live by…

It’s the Season Premier of Friday Night Lights!
The Snack Shack will be open, so make sure to bring your juke box money.

We hope to see you there!
